Discover who you are: It’s very imperative to discover who you are and embrace your inner beauty because many people can tell you, you are pretty and beautiful all day long, but if you don’t know and believe it for yourself then those words become irrelevant. Knowing this, will give you confidence to where you don't have to try so hard to be convincing. It really turned around for me when I realized that the people I see as beautiful in my life are not the ones who are gorgeous model-beautiful; they're the ones that shine because they're full of light. It doesn't even have to mean they're happy and perfectly healthy and have solved all of their personal problems, it's when they are soulful, or they've dropped the facade they've placed on themselves, or when they're looking at something that gives them pleasure or joy, or when they're laughing, that they're beautiful.
Be happy in your Skin: I find that the strangers I see as beautiful are the ones who look like they completely inhabit their own bodies and lives, rather than the ones who are totally buff or have perfect skin or perfect bodies. The people I've known who look "perfect" on the outside have often been people who struggle daily with a self-hatred that makes them compulsively addicted to exercise or "healthy" eating or sacrificing pleasure for looks, and they haven't been what I consider healthy or happy. When people are laughing and having fun, they're beautiful, no matter their age or body type or what they're wearing. Flaws are perceptive and it’s a flaw only because you believe it’s one. A girl who wants to lose 10 pounds may think she’s fat, while another girl who wants to be size zero may think she’s fat. To a third girl’s eye, both those girls may already be skinny! Beauty is just a perception that begins from within.
No Approval Needed: Instead of worrying about how I look, I manage my energy, increase my hope, rediscover appreciation, increase my joy, begin to give to others and increase my enthusiasm. It always works for me to redirect the focus from judgment and worry to love, gratitude and not taking myself so seriously. You don’t have to flaunt yourself to let people know you're about something! You won’t feel the need to impress people with what you have to offer or have to compare yourself to others because people can see it just by looking at you.
Embrace diversity: Not everyone is going to look like you. Throughout your journey in life, you are going to meet all types of people. Some are tall, others are short. Some have curly hair, others have straight hair. Some are thin, others are overweight. Try to look beyond the individual's physical appearance to find out who they are. Everyone is beautiful in their own way!
Embracing your inner beauty DOES NOT mean to be arrogant or boastful, but to be modest. So embrace your inner beauty. We all have flaws that we need to embrace. We all are beautiful and equally different. So discover it, embrace it, and be comfortable in your own skin. You’re beautiful if you know it and feel it. So go on out there, because there’s a whole world waiting for the beautiful you. And if you still feel like there’s a flaw holding the beautiful you back, learn to overcome it.
